Another week of fantasy action is upon us and while six teams on a bye week can present problems, but in this case the hit doesn't hurt us as much. The only real absences that will be felt is Evan Engram and Delanie Walker sitting out this week. While it takes away two of the consensus top-five tight ends, we still have plenty of options to look towards in the Week 8 slate.
So let's take a look at the Week 8 fantasy tight end rankings.
| Rank: | Name: | Opponent: | Note: |
| 1. | Zach Ertz | v. SF | Ertz has established himself as one of the best tight ends in football and Carson Wentz's favorite weapon. Tough matchup, but start your studs. |
| 2. | Rob Gronkowski | v. LAC | Gronk turned in his worst performance of the year last week. Los Angeles allows second-fewest FPPG to tight ends, they will be unable to stop Gronk. |
| 3. | Travis Kelce | v. DEN | Kelce carries inconsistency but while Denver's defense is strong, they allow fourth-most points to tight ends. Kelce could explode in Week 8. |
| 4. | Hunter Henry | @ NE | Week 7 once again proved who is the lead dog at tight end for the Chargers. New England will have fits against Henry in a high-scoring matchup. |
| 5. | Jordan Reed | v. DAL | Reed finally turned in a big performance last week If the connection with Kirk Cousins is back, the NFL and fantasy owners regain an elite tight end. |
| 6. | Kyle Rudolph | @ CLE | The upside might not match the top-four plays, but Rudolph is a consistent target facing a CLE defense that allows second-most fantasy points to TEs. |
| 7. | Austin Seferian-Jenkins | v. ATL | One of the best comeback stories in sports, ASJ has now found the end zone in three consecutive games and is Josh McCown's favorite target. |
| 8. | Cameron Brate | v. CAR | He is the definition of consistent. Five-plus receptions in three straight weeks and 60-plus yards in four straight weeks, easy top-10 status. |
| 9. | Jason Witten | @ WAS | He may not be nearly the player he once was but the upside of 50-plus yards or a touchdown is worth the fantasy play, especially in a great matchup. |
| 10. | Jimmy Graham | v. HOU | Graham took advantage of his matchup against the Giants. Houston presents a tougher matchup and Graham is still a tough fantasy player to trust. |
| 11. | Tyler Kroft | v. IND | A solid matchup for Kroft, who continues to see a sizable role. Five-plus targets, including one or two in the end zone, make Kroft fantasy relevant option. |
| 12. | Jared Cook | v. BUF | Buffalo allows the sixth-most fantasy point to opposing TEs and left them uncovered throughout Week 7. Cook is a nice DFS play with some upside. |
| 13. | Austin Hooper | @ NYJ | There is no doubt Hooper left us disappointed in Week 7. But his athleticism and upside in a good matchup is too hard to ignore. |
| 14. | Julius Thomas | @ BAL | With Matt Moore at quarterback on a short week, Thomas could see a few more targets. He's a fringe TE play but the matchup is worth a gamble. |
| 15. | George Kittle | @ PHI | We saw the downside with Kittle as a gamble play last week. The college QB-TE connection only saw one connection, that should go up in Week 8. |
