Fantasy Football Week 15: Matt Ryan vs. Eli Manning

Week 15 is here.  This time around we’re treated to number of great fantasy matchup's at various positions. Sunday’s game between Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons and The New York Giants, led by Eli Manning: is sure not to disappoint.  By now you know the drill, so let’s get right to it.

Despite the Falcons’ recent struggles and a slow start on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers; Ryan finished the day with a very respectable 342 yards, two touchdowns and 20 fantasy points.  Ryan has been in a mini slump since throwing five interceptions against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 11, but is still third in the league with 2,932 passing yards (averaging 303 per game), seventh with 24 touchdowns and the eighth best fantasy quarterback with 238 total points (averaging 19 per game).

The Giants’ defense is dead last in sacks with 14, and isn’t ranked higher than 20th in any other category, except interceptions (tied for 14th with 13 picks).  Ryan and the Falcons’ should look to take advantage of this, as they certainly have enough talented receiving targets for Ryan to choose from.

Manning and the Giants are coming into this game very confidently after their huge win against the New Orleans Saints last week.  The Giants destroyed the Saints 52-27, and Manning had a great day, throwing for 259 yards and four touchdowns, good for 22 fantasy points.  Eli plays very well in December at home, and should have a decent day against the Falcons’ so-so pass defense.

While Ryan will more than likely finish the day as the better fantasy quarterback, Manning and the Giants should take home the victory.  The Giants just have too many weapons in the running game and on special teams.

Projection: Ryan 17 points, Manning 14 points.
