Fantasy Impact: Bills QB Nathan Peterman to Start on Sunday

When Nathan Peterman takes the field for the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, it will be under different circumstances than his first NFL start. With Tyrod Taylor's knee injury limiting him in practice and cutting down on his ability as a dual-threat quarterback who excels moving around the pocket, Buffalo will play it safe and turn to Peterman against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 14.

Peterman's third NFL appearance went much better than his first start. After throwing nearly as many completions (six) as interceptions (five) against the Los Angeles Chargers, Peterman took over after Taylor left on a cart and completed 6-of-15 passes for 50 yards and no interceptions.

While it's certainly not a great performance, Peterman should find some better opportunities to throw against the Colts' defense. While Indianapolis has allowed only 729 passing yards in its past three games, the secondary is now without its two top cornerbacks and the defense often struggles to put pressure on opposing quarterbacks.

Peterman is certainly someone to avoid in season-long leagues, even for fantasy owners desperate in two-quarterback leagues. But he is on the DFS radar given his bargain price on FanDuel and DraftKings, opening the door for him to surpass an owner's ROI. 200-plus yards and a touchdown is a poor line for many of the game's upper-echelon quarterbacks, but we'll take it given Peterman's skill level and his price.
