1. DeMarco Murray, Philadelphia Eagles
Stats: 21 attempts, 11 rushing yards, 64 receiving yards, two touchdowns (19.50 fantasy points)
0.5 yards per rush attempt. Just think about that stat for a second. As it is, Murray is coming off a week in which he rode the pine due to a hamstring injury. This saw Ryan Mathews put up 138 total yards and a touchdown in Murray's stead.
This most definitely isn't a trend, but it sure could become one moving forward. With Philadelphia struggling to get anything going through the air, it's likely going to focus on the running back. If that's the case, Chip Kelly and Co. will got with the hot hand. Needless to say, Murray is ice-cold at this point.
2. Marshawn Lynch, Seattle Seahawks
Stats: 38 attempts, 128 rushing yards, 61 receiving yards, zero touchdowns (20.90 fantasy points)
Injury after injury. After dealing with a calf injury in the lead up to last week's game, Lynch is now questionable for Monday Night Football against the Detroit Lions. After averaging just 3.4 yards per attempt three games and with substantial injury concerns, it's likely Lynch's on-field struggles will continue.
The other thing to look at here is a below-average run-blocking offensive line in Seattle. Simply put, Seahawks running backs don't have anywhere near the same type of holes to run through as they have had in the past.
3. Eddie Lacy, Green Bay Packers
Stats: 32 attempts, 140 rushing yards, 55 receiving yards, one touchdown (25.50 fantasy points)
Notice how the theme of this article has been injuries? While Lacy has yet to miss a full game with an ankle injury, he has been limited with said issue for the past two games. This is one of the primary reasons that he's averaging 10.7 attempts per game.
It's going to be interesting to see how Lacy performs as he nears 100 percent. With the way the Packers passing game is going, there's a chance he won't see the same amount of touches as we saw last year. Though, we all know that Mike McCarthy and Co. are looking to create balance on offense. If Lacy is healthy, he's a top-10 fantasy running back.
4. Jeremy Hill, Cincinnati Bengals
Stats: 41 attempts, 123 rushing yards, two receiving yards, two touchdowns (20.50 fantasy points)
After seeing 37 snaps in Week 1, Hill has seen 46 snaps over the past two games. A lot of this has to do with the two fumbles he lost in Week 2, but some of this has to do with the Bengals playing from behind. Bengals head coach went as far to say that the team is going to play Giovani Bernard when it is behind.
Speaking of Bernard, he's clearly been the best running back on the roster. The third-year pro is averaging 5.9 yards per touch and over 100 yards per game thus far this year.
5. C.J. Anderson, Denver Broncos
Stats: 32 attempts, 74 rushing yards, 30 receiving yards, zero touchdowns (10.40 fantasy points)
Ouch. After three weeks, Anderson is the 62nd-best fantasy running back. Averaging just over two yards per attempt, Anderson has been bothered by multiple injury issues this season. His latest was being forced to go through the concussion protocol last week against the Detroit Lions.
With Peyton Manning putting up 40-plus attempts in each game this year and Ronnie Hillman playing a significant role in the offense, it's hard to rely on Anderson to live up to his status as a first-round preseason running back.
