The New York Jets let starting receivers Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker leave during the summer. For the rebuilding team, it was all about getting younger at this position. That includes promoting youngster Quincy Enunwa to the No. 1 receiving role.
It made sense. New York isn't going anywhere fast, and Enunwa proved himself more than capable last season. The fourth year receiver recorded 58 receptions for 857 yards and four touchdowns last season. It was good enough for him to finish as a bottom-end FLEX option in standard fantasy leagues.
Unfortunately for both the Jets and fantasy owners the world over, Enunwa went down to what appears to be a neck injury during the Jets' live scrimmage Saturday evening.
There's no indication one way or another how serious the injury might be but Enunwa was able to walk off the field with trainers under his own power. The youngster missed minicamp during the offseason with what head coach Todd Bowles describes as a similar injury.
We'll provide further updates as they become available.
