Los Angeles Chargers rookie first-round pick Mike Williams has a small herniated disc in his lower back and will be held out for the remainder of the team's off-season activities.
This has to be considered some major news, especially for those looking to take part in rookie-pool drafts here soon.
While the Chargers themselves don't appear to be too considered, anything in the back region when it comes to professional athletes should be cause for alarm. Williams, who was selected seventh overall back in April, is being relied on to make an iumpact as a rookie out of the gate. Barring injury, his role would likely be as the team's No. 2 receiver behind Keenan Allen with Travis Benjamin holding the slot duties.
This is surely something to keep an eye on as training camp itself nears later in the summer.
