Injury Update: Chiefs' RB Spencer Ware Likely Out for the Season

Kansas City Chiefs starting running back Spencer Ware suffered what looked to be a serious knee injury Friday against the Seattle Seahawks.

Initial indications were that Ware would miss 2-8 weeks, but further tests showed that the running back suffered a torn PCL in his knee and has damage to the LCL.

He's likely to miss the entire 2017 regular season.

It's a major blow for both the Chiefs and those who selected Ware in fake football drafts this summer. Ware put up nearly 1,400 total yards en route to finishing as a mid-tier RB2 option last season.

With him sidelined, head coach Andy Reid has already named rookie third-round pick Kareem Hunt as the team's starting running back heading into the regular season.

Hunt put up 102 yards on 20 touches over the past two preseason games. He's also coming off a four-year career at Toledo that saw him put up 5,500 total yards. In preseason drafts that have yet to be conducted, Hunt's ceiling is now at the top of the third-round. We'll have a feature on him later in the day.
