Jadeveon Clowney has had his share of questioning since declaring for the 2014 NFL Draft. Questions arose about his motor and his work ethic, but there is no denying Clowney's ability to be a special player in the NFL. It's not too often a guy 6'6", 265 pounds, runs a 4.50 40-yard dash. To go with his ridiculous frame, Clowney has huge hands and long arms to make him even more explosive.
At South Carolina, Clowney was labeled soft. In my opinion, the main reason why Clowney looked timid was because he didn't want to risk an injury, which would've affected his draft status. Going forward, Clowney could excel right away in the NFL. He already looks the part and he has reportedly looked spectacular for the Houston Texans in OTAs.
Clowney will be able to line up across from J.J. Watt, which will only help him. With Louis Nix III in between Clowney and Watt, the Texans could have the most disruptive 3-4 defensive line in the NFL. Clowney has all-world ability and there is no doubt in my mind that he won't be an elite NFL player. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see Clowney in the Pro Bowl at the end of his rookie season.
