Johnny Manziel to Start Week 2 against Tennessee Titans

As Josh McCown continues to go through the concussion protocol, Cleveland Browns head coach Mike Pettine had to make a decision at quarterback. On Friday, the Browns announced Johnny Manziel will start against the Tennessee Titans.

Manziel was thrown into the fire early last week when McCown suffered a concussion in the first quarter against the New York Jets. Within minutes of entering the game, Manziel threw a 54-yard touchdown to Travis Benjamin, lighting up the face of Browns fans and giving reason for optimism. Things didn't go well the rest of the game as he was sacked three times, completed only 13-of-24 pass attempts, fumbled twice and had multiple throws off the mark.

He had a full week of practice with the first team this week, which should help him be more prepared for the upcoming game. Cleveland also was prepared for him as a starter, so the offense is very likely much more tailored to fit his skill set. He will face a Titans' defense that gave Jameis Winston frustrations all game, but was not considered a "fearsome" defense coming into the season.

From a fantasy perspective, Manziel shouldn't be in any fantasy lineups this week. he has still not showed he can play well in a regular season game, the receivers around him are not very talented and Manziel still has to show he can even handle the speed of the NFL. Stay away from Browns players in fantasy this week.
