When healthy, Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed is one of the top fantasy players at his position. The issue here is that Reed simply hasn't been able to stay healthy. He's missed 14 games in the two-plus seasons since Washington selected him in the third round of the 2013 NFL draft.
Reed's latest issues — a sprained MCL and concussion — kept him out of the Redskins' past two games. Though, the young tight end fully expects to be ready to go against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday:
“I’m good. 100-percent," Reed said on Wednesday, via CSN Washington. "“The last one held me out six weeks [and] his one was only two weeks, so it was a lot different.”
Reed, who practiced on a limited basis on Wednesday, will have to receive the go-ahead from an independent neurologist. If that happens, he will be ready to go against a lackluster Tampa Bay defense. Though, it must be noted that the Buccaneers have yielded the fewest fantasy points to tight ends on the season.
For his part, Reed tallied at least five receptions and six-plus targets in his first four games prior to the injury issues. No matter the solid play Tampa's defense has put up against tight ends, Kirk Cousins will find a way to target Reed.
