After being moved from left tackle to right tackle last week, former Kansas City Chiefs No. 1 pick Eric Fisher will be inactive against the Houston Texans on Sunday.
Fisher, who has struggled through two substandard seasons, reportedly expressed concern about an ankle injury he suffered during the summer, which led to the team deciding to start reserve offensive linemen Jah Reid in his stead.
This isn't necessarily the best possible news for Alex Smith and company. Donald Stephenson will be starting opposite Reid against reigning Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt and a healthy Jadeveon Clowney. Talk about throwing Smith to the fire immediately. Stephenson and Reid started a total of zero games last season.
