LeSean McCoy Dealing with Torn MCL

The injury-plagued 2015 campaign of Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy took yet another hit on Sunday against the Washington Redskins.

ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that McCoy suffered a torn MCL in the loss and is expected to get more tests as the week progresses.

Despite this initial report, the Bills are still holding out hope that McCoy will be able to suit up again this season. In fact, NFL Media's Ian Rapoport indicated on Monday that there's a chance McCoy could suit up in the season finale against the New York Jets in Week 17.

Though, that would make very little sense for a Bills team that was eliminated from playoff contention on Sunday. Why risk further injury to McCoy's knee in a game that means nothing for the team outside of draft positioning?

Considering Buffalo may be looking to end the New York Jets playoff aspirations, this could be a representation of Rex Ryan attempting to exact revenge against his former team. Even then, there's little reason to believe Ryan would run out McCoy under those circumstances.

With McCoy likely done fo the season, Karlos Williams should find himself as the team's primary ball carrier for the final two games. Taking on a Dallas Cowboy defense this next week that ranks in the bottom five of the NFL against fantasy running backs, Williams becomes a solid fantasy option.

If McCoy's season is done, he will end it with 1,187 total yards and five touchdowns in 12 games — a far cry from what Buffalo expected when it traded for him back in March.
