Looks Like the Cowboys are Handing RB Job to Christine Michael

A report came out earlier this week that the Dallas Cowboys were planning on potentially giving Christine Michael first-team reps over current starter Joseph Randle

In a surprisingly upfront Q&A with reporters on Thursday, Cowboys running backs coach Gary Brown pretty much confirmed this:

Seen as an ultra-talented prospect coming out of Texas A&M back in 2013, Michael was selected in the second round of that year's draft by the Seattle Seahawks. However, an inability to pick up the nuances of the professional game held Michael back a great deal.

In just two seasons with Seattle prior to a preseason trade to Dallas this year, Michael tallied a total of 259 rushing yards on 54 attempts. With the Seahawks giving Michael up for a lowly seventh-round pick, it's safe to say that Pete Carroll and Co. weren't too high on his potential moving forward.

It will be interesting to see what Michael does behind the league's best offensive line. If he's given a real shot to take over the primary ball-carrier duties, the third-year running back should be rosterable in 12-team leagues. That much is a given.
