Marcus Mariota Out for the Season with Sprained MCL

Marcus Mariota's rookie season has come to an end two games before the Tennessee Titans would have liked. NFL Media's Rand Getlin is reporting that Mariota will miss the final two weeks of the season after suffering his second sprained MCL of the year

This could be more about the Titans attempting to preserve Mariota with two meaningless football games remaining. No one wants to see a repeat of the Robert Griffin III situation with Tennessee only battling for draft positioning from here on out.

For his part, Mariota has accomplished exactly what he wanted to as a rookie.

Despite the Titans' lack of success as a team, a league worst 3-11 record included, Mariota has played extremely well in the games he's suited up in.

He finishes his rookie campaign having completed 62.2 percent of his passes for 2,818 yards with 21 total touchdowns compared to 10 interceptions.

With Mariota out of action, Zach Mettenberger will be under center for the final two games of the season. He is no way a relevant fantasy option, either in year-long leagues or DFS contests. In fact, you can pretty much ignore the Titans from here on out.
