Most Glaring Jacksonville Jaguars Needs Entering NFL Draft Season

The Jaguars are one of the most interesting franchises in the NFL this offseason, because they are heading in the right direction. Gus Bradley and David Caldwell have "righted the ship" in just over a year. But like any team selecting in the top five, talent is needed.

So far in the offseason the Jaguars have signed Red Bryant, Chris Clemons, Toby Gerhart and a few more guys who can contribute right away, but as we all know, great teams are built through the draft and the Jaguars have some holes that need to be addressed.

Quarterback

Chad Henne, Ricky Stanzi, and Matt Scott are not answers for the future, although Henne is a good backup in the NFL. The Jaguars need their cornerstone of the franchise and could be in a position to grab one in the first or second round. Gus Bradley needs his leader, and the best player on the offense. Can Teddy Bridgewater be that guy?

Running Back

Although the Jaguars added Gerhart, they should still consider adding depth at running back, or a change of pace player for the rookie quarterback whoever it may be. Gerhart will get his share of the load, but adding a player like Bishop Sankey or Isaiah Crowell would be a good boost for the Jaguars offense.

Offensive Line

Jacksonville has their left tackle situation under control with Luke Joeckel likely to move over and anchor the offensive line. But, the Jags need help along the offensive line next to him. If Alex Mack ends up in Jacksonville it would fill a huge need, but they still need some help at offensive guard. Adding a player such as Xavier Su'a-Filo or Gabe Jackson could do wonders for this unit.

Outside Linebacker

The Jaguars have a very good middle linebacker for Gus Bradley's defense in Paul Posluszny, but he needs help on either side of him. Whether it be an off the ball outside backer or a pass-rusher, the Jaguars need help at the outside linebacker position. If a quarterback is not the pick at three, Khalil Mack could be a possibility, or even Jeremiah Attaochu in the second or third round.

Wide Receiver

While it sounds odd, the Jaguars still do need another wide receiver. Cecil Shorts is a very good number two, and Justin Blackmon can be a number one without question, but with his off-field issues he is a massive question mark. While some have Sammy Watkins being a possible surprise at number three, the Jags would be better off waiting on a receiver in such a deep class. A player like Marqise Lee could quite possibly fall right into their hands in the third round.

The Jaguars still have needs to address, but Jacksonville fans should have faith in their head coach and general manager. This franchise is trending upward, and it is great to see.
