Most Surprising Fantasy Quarterbacks Through Week 10

Marcus Mariota, Tennessee Titans

Mariota has been on one heck of a roll over the past six games, tallying 19 total touchdowns compared to three interceptions over the span. From a fantasy standpoint, the second-year signal caller ranks third among quarterbacks in fantasy points over the past four games. This has him as the fourth-best player at his position through 10 weeks. Not too shabby considering Mariota finished last season 22nd overall.

Mariota's recent surge has also enabled him to be considered a legitimate weekly option in DFS contests. Unlike Matt Ryan below, he's shown the consistency to be relied on in said contests. Mariota ranks sixth among quarterbacks in fantasy consistency. That's pretty darn good considering his overall ranking.

Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons

Ryan finished last season as the 19th-best fantasy quarterback after tossing just 21 touchdowns compared to 16 interceptions. He's already surpassed that touchdown total with 24 through 10 games this year. The under-the-radar MVP candidate has also thrown just five interceptions in 346 pass attempts. That one interception per 70 pass attempts. Not too shabby at all.

This has Ryan as the No. 1 overall fantasy quarterback heading into Week 11. The only real drawback here, especially when looking at it through a fantasy lens, is that Ryan ranks 16th among quarterbacks in fantasy consistency with 37.3 percent of his points coming in three games.

Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys

We're pretty much out of expletives to explain just how good Prescott has been as a rookie. The former Mississippi State standout has tallied 18 touchdowns compared to two interceptions and is averaging 273 total yards per game. He's also finished as a top-10 fantasy quarterback in five of his past six starts.

Not only does this have Prescott ranked 10th among quarterbacks in fantasy points heading into Week 11, he's the fourth-most consistent player at this position thus far on the season. That's pretty amazing stuff right there.

Derek Carr, Oakland Raiders

Not only is Carr a legitimate MVP candidate for his surprising Oakland Raiders, the third-year quarterback has been splendid from a fantasy standpoint. He heads into Week 11 with the ninth-most points among quarterbacks. The only real issue here, and it's a rather big one, is that Carr ranks outside of the top 20 in consistency. Over 63 percent of his fantasy points have come in four games. That's alarming, especially when he takes on top-end pass defenses.
