New Orleans Saints CB Keenan Lewis Expected to Miss 4-6 Weeks

The hits keep coming for what promises to be a bad New Orleans Saints defense this season. According to multiple media reports, starting cornerback Keenan Lewis will miss 4-6 weeks after undergoing surgery on his hip.

This is yet another blow for a team that has lost Junior Galette and Curtis Lofton, among others, on the defensive side of the ball — a defense that ranked 28th in points against last season.

While New Orleans did add Brandon Browner in free agency, he's missed the previous two preseason games with a knee injury. In addition to this, safety Kenny Vaccaro has also been sidelined for the very same span.

Remember, New Orleans placed rookie corner P.J. Williams on injured reserve earlier this week.

25-year-old rookie Delvin Breaux, who has experience playing in the Gridiron Developmental Football League and Arena Football League, will likely start with Lewis sidelined.

New Orleans opens the season on the road against the Arizona Cardinals before taking on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (home), Carolina Panthers (away), Dallas Cowboys (home) and Philadelphia Eagles (away). Needless to say, receivers on those teams will become solid DFS plays with No. 2 options representing the best value.
