Both the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs are heading to the playoffs. Denver clinched a playoff berth in Week 14 and KC clinched their playoff berth last week after their win in Oakland. The San Diego Chargers are also in the hunt for some playoff football and will look to keep their hopes alive this week. So, here’s a look at the AFC matchups for Week 16.
The 11-3 Kansas City Chiefs will host the 9-5 AFC South Division Champion Indianapolis Colts. The Chiefs absolutely killed the Raiders 56-31 last week as Jamaal Charles was unstoppable putting up five touchdowns, four of which were receiving.
Although the Chiefs are already playoff bound, the have their sight set on the division. The defense has struggled at times and they will have their hands full with Andrew Luck and the Colts, but that great Arrowhead home-field advantage may come in handy in this one.
The 11-3 Denver Broncos will travel to Houston to take on the 2-12 Texans. The Broncos lost to the Chargers in a shocking 27-20 game last week. They could have had a lead in the division, but now they are tied with KC.
Unlike last week’s contest, this looks to be a much easier opponent for Denver. The Texans have had a disappointing year, as they have not played well at all.
This will be an easy win for Peyton Manning and the Broncos, as they continue their pursuit of another AFC West title.
The 4-10 Oakland Raiders will travel to San Diego to take on the 7-7 Chargers. These division rival games are always entertaining and hard fought, but last week’s Raiders/Chiefs game was a blowout as the Raiders were very much exposed and embarrassed.
The Chargers enter this game with a lot of confidence as they keep that playoff push alive, whereas the Raiders will attempt to play spoiler. After beating the Broncos on Thursday Night Football, the Chargers see the Raiders as an easy obstacle.
This game should go in the Chargers favor and as the season winds down, there could be three AFC West teams in the playoffs.
