A day after it was reported that initial tests concluded Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson suffered a torn ACL in their game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, the team confirmed that Nelson has indeed suffered the serious knee injury.
He will miss the entire 2015 season:
The impact that this injury will have on the Packers cannot be overstated. Not only was he the Packers No. 1 receiver, the Aaron Rodgers - Nelson connection has to be considered one of the top duos in the entire NFL. Since the start of the 2012 campaign, Nelson has put up 21 touchdowns of 20-plus yards. This past season alone, the Pro Bowl receiver caught 67 percent of the passes thrown in his direction for 1,519 yards and 13 touchdowns. His 98 receptions ranked sixth among NFL receivers. His 13 touchdowns tied for second-most in the NFL behind Dez Bryant.
With Nelson out, second-year receiver Davante Adams will take his spot in the starting lineup. We focused on the fantasy impact in an article earlier on Monday. Check it out here.
