1. Team To Score First (Patriots -125)
New England outscored its opponents by a combined 98 points in the first quarter during the regular season. Its ability to get out on top is one of the primary reasons New England finished the regular year with a 14-2 record.
Look for the Pats to also jump out early against the Falcons come Sunday evening. Whether this will result in a win remains to be seen. But -125 seems to be a solid bet here.
2. MVP Odds (Tom Brady, +160)
Despite Matt Ryan taking home the NFL MVP award on Saturday night, Brady is the favorite to win the Super Bowl MVP award. He comes in at +160 with Ryan placing at +275.
At total of seven of the past 10 Super Bowl MVPs came from the quarterback position. So it stands to reason that one of these two quarterbacks will be holding the hardware when all is said and done Sunday.
Though, Julio Jones is surely an under-the-radar candidate here. He comes in third behind Brady and Ryan at +750. That might not be a bad bet.
3. Patriots Total Team Points (Over 30.5 at -140)
Postseason included, New England has scored 30-plus points in 10 of its 18 games this season. On the other hand, the Falcons have given up 30-plus points an alarmingly high six times on the season. At -140, this is surely a good bet to take.
4. Falcons Total Team Points (Over 27.5 at -140)
Another seemingly good bet in what should be a high-scoring Super Bowl. Atlanta ranked No. 1 in the NFL in scoring offense at 33.8 points per game. In fact, the Falcons have topped the 30-point total in six of their past seven games. While New England did rank No. 1 in the NFL in scoring defense during the regular season, look for the Falcons to do enough on offense to keep this close.
5. Total Touchdowns (6.5 at -140)
Atlanta and New England combined to average 61.4 points during the regular season. Basic math tells us this is an average of nearly nine touchdowns per outing.
As it relates to the Pats, they have scored four-plus touchdowns eight times this season. On the other hand, the Falcons have hit the four-touchdown plateau 11 times. Needless to say, go with the over here.
