Adrian Peterson...
Okay, now that I have mentioned the top redraft fantasy running back in the NFL, I can move on to who we expect to be a dud for the Minnesota Vikings this season.
Had you for a second, right?
Greg Jennings has struggled to stay healthy and make a strong impact when he's on the field over the past two seasons. His 1,315 receiving yards during that span is just below the 1,265 yards he compiled back in 2010.
Oh, and Jennings will be having Christian Ponder, not Aaron Rodgers, throwing the ball to him this year.
Considering that Jennings' ADP is relatively low at this point, it might not make a whole lot of sense to call him a "dud." That being said, we project him to be Ponder's third-favorite target in the passing game behind Kyle Rudolph and Cordarrelle Patterson. Limiting the number of targets that Jennings receives this season will only further drop his fantasy production.
Jennings finished with the lowest catch rate of any Packers' receiver last season. While he hauled in just over 60 percent of the passes thrown in his direction, Green Bay's top-three targets at that position (Randall Cobb, Jordy Nelson and James Jones) combined to bring in over 70 percent of the passes thrown to them.
Couple that with the fact that Ponder completed just over 50 percent of the passes he threw to wide receivers last season and you have all indicators for failure here.
In reality, Jennings is likely nothing better than a decent FLEX or top-bench guy in a standard 12-team league. He's not going to receive the necessary targets, won't be successful with the targets he receives and will not see the ball often in the red zone with AP on the roster.
Look at something to the tune of 60 receptions for 750 yards and three touchdowns. That's the best-case scenario here.
