Quick Injury Updates Heading Into Week 7 NFL Action

Michael Vick, Quarterback, Pittsburgh Steelers

Vick was technically pulled on Sunday after suffering a hamstring injury. Though, posting single-digit passing yards into the second half didn't help. The indications here are that Vick will miss at least a week, but it's highly unlikely that he would have been under center next week anyway with the way Landry Jones performed in his stead. Ben Roethlisberger also hasn't ruled himself out for next week.

Marcus Mariota, Quarterback, Tennessee Titans

The result of Mariota's MRI on Monday showed a sprained MCL. Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt indicated that the team is taking a wait-and-see approach leading up to next week's game against the Atlanta Falcons. And while the Titans have expressed optimism that Mariota will be able to go, it wouldn't be a huge surprise to see Zach Mettenberger under center.

Zach Zenner, Running Back, Detroit Lions

Lions head coach Jim Caldwell reported on Monday that Zenner was hospitalized with multiple broken ribs and a collapsed lung after Sunday's game. Needless to say, the backup running back is out for the remainder of the season. It's a major blow for the undrafted Zenner, especially considering he likely was going to continue receiving opportunities in the running game.

Ameer Abdullah, Running Back, Detroit Lions

Abdullah was pulled in the second half of Detroit's win over the Chicago Bears after suffering what head coach Jim Caldwell called a stinger. Though, the injury did occur on a play in which the rookie was attempting to recover his own fumble — his third fumble in two games. Remember, Abdullah was benched in Week 5 after fumbling twice. With Zenner out, the Lions may be forced to run Abdullah out there. If not, Theo Riddick may get some play moving forward.

Sammy Watkins, Wide Receiver, Buffalo Bills

After less than a half of action Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals, Watkins found himself on the sideline in a walking boot following an ankle injury. This comes on the heels of the second-year receiver missing the Bills' previous two games with a calf injury. Watkins is said to be doubtful for next week.

Percy Harvin, Wide Receiver, Buffalo Bills

Harvin, who did not play Sunday due to a hip injury, could potentially be lost for a while. ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that he will NOT make the trip to London to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars. With a Week 8 bye following that game, it will be interesting to see if Harvin might be able to return. Given his injury history, this is not good news for the dynamic play-maker.

Emmanuel Sanders, Wide Receiver, Denver Broncos

Sanders suffered a sprained AC join in his shoulder against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. While the injury is a bit worrisome, it does come at a good time. Denver has a bye prior to hosting the Green Bay Packers in Week 8. NFL Media's Ian Rapoport also reported on Monday that Sanders could return from the injury at any time

Ty Montgomery, Wide Receiver, Green Bay Packers

The MRI Montgomery received on his ankle came back negative. That's great news considering how bad it looked on Sunday. Now dealing with a simple ankle sprain, it's likely Montgomery will be able to go against Denver after the Packers Week 7 bye.

Jeremy Maclin, Wide Receiver, Kansas City Chiefs

Maclin suffered a concussion Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings. He will have to go through the league's concussion protocol to play against the Pittsburgh Steelers next week. If Maclin is out, Albert Wilson becomes an under-the-radar DFS play.

Keenan Allen, Wide Receiver, San Diego Chargers

Allen suffered a hip injury in San Diego's loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Though, it's said to be not that serious. He's expected to be ready for next week's game against the Oakland Raiders. Through six games, Allen leads the NFL with 53 receptions.
