Randall Cobb Fantasy Football Profile

Randall Cobb broke out in a big way during his sophomore campaign in 2012.  He finished the season as the Green Bay Packers’ top fantasy wide receiver, and established himself as Aaron Rodgers’ favorite target.  Heading into his third season at just 22 years of age, what can fantasy owners expect from Cobb in 2013 and beyond? Let’s take a look and find out.

2013 Outlook

Last seasons Cobb stepped up and established himself as the Packers’ uncontested No. 1 receiver.  He’s a versatile playmaker that can line up anywhere on the field.  Cobb is a constant threat in the slot and is dangerous anytime the ball is in his hands.  Cobb is extremely talented at racking up yards after the catch and carrying the ball in open space.

All of this adds up to the potential for Cobb to have a monster year.  He’s the focal point of an ultra-talented and high-octane offense and should have no problem finishing in the top 10 of fantasy receivers for 2013, which would make him a solid WR1 option.  In PPR leagues Cobb’s value increases quite a bit, making him an even better WR1 option.

Dynasty Outlook

Cobb’s value should be a no-brainer here.  We’ve already established his potential moving forward, which should be sustainable for the foreseeable future, given that he’s just 22 years old.  The fact that he is Rodgers’ favorite and most dependable target (Cobb was second in the league in catch percentage in 2012) also cannot be overlooked.  Rodgers still isn’t even 30, and will be running the show in Green Bay for quite some time still, which means Cobb will continue to see the bulk of Rodgers’ targets.

Projected 2013 Statistics: 102 receptions, 1,350 receiving yards, 150 rushing yards and 12 total touchdowns.
