Report: Signing Robert Griffin II "In Play" for Dallas Cowboys

One thing is already known about Robert Griffin III's future, he will not be suiting up for Washington in 2016. But there will certainly be some teams around the league interested in his services and one connection that has always been suggested is the Dallas Cowboys.

In a radio interview, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Cowboys will be "in play" for Griffin III if/when Washington releases him. This follows a report on Friday that Washington was still hoping to trade RGIII and there were at least two teams with interest.

We are a long ways away from seeing an end result to this, more teams will be connected to Griffin III, hoping to turn him around and get his career back on track.

But Dallas does make a lot of sense, putting him in a situation where he can return to Texas and be put in a good situation. Griffin III wouldn't asked to start right away, he could back up Tony Romo and get used to the Cowboys' offense, then step in if Romo gets hurt.

It would be an environment where Griffin III could be comfortable, something he did not have in Washington. The change of scenery can help bring some of his confidence back, a vital component of a quarterback being successful. In the end, Dallas might be the best landing spot for RGIII.
