Report: Tony Romo will not Need Surgery, Likely Out Eight Weeks

Some decent news for Dallas Cowboys the day after their season seemed to take a dramatic turn on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. According to multiple media reports, Pro Bowl quarterback Tony Romo will not need surgery after suffering a broken collarbone in the team's 20-10 win over Philadelphia.

This means that Romo will likely miss the Cowboys next seven games. That's better than the initial prognosis that Romo could miss up to 10 weeks.

It's still going to be tough for the Cowboys, now 2-0 on the season, to tread water with Romo out. Brandon Weeden will start under center, beginning next week against a solid Atlanta Falcons team. In order for Dallas to maintain its position as the NFC East favorites, it will likely need to win three of the seven games with Romo out. That's a tough task with Dez Bryant also slated to miss the next two months.

In terms of fantasy implications, this news means that you need to still keep Romo rostered while adding a third quarterback to your team. That's both good and bad.
