Todd Gurley Active for the St. Louis Rams

It's going to be intriguing to see how St. Louis Rams running back Todd Gurley is utilized in his NFL debut against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

The rookie top-10 pick — active for the first time in his career — is going up against a Steelers defense that has been among the worst in the NFL through two weeks. If he's not on a pitch count, the explosive Gurley should put up some huge numbers. And while there should be some concern over him making a huge impact in his first game back after suffering a torn ACL at Georgia last year, the Rams made it clear that Gurley wouldn't be active unless he was 100 percent.

As sexy of a play as this might be in weekly contests, I'd recommend being a bit cautious here. St. Louis still has a running back in Tre Mason capable of holding down the fort on the ground. It makes more sense for the Rams to ease Gurley back into action with about 10 touches in his NFL debut.
