Top 5 Fantasy Tight Ends for Week 7

1. Vernon Davis, San Francisco 49ers

2013 Statistics: 22 receptions, 404 yards and six touchdowns

I went back and forth with Witten and Davis as the possible No. 1 fantasy tight end this week. Davis is averaging a ridiculous 18.4 yards per reception this season. He also ranks third overall among fantasy tight ends this season. Over the course of his last two games, Davis has brought down 11 catches for 268 yards and three scores. He goes up against a Tennessee Titans defense that ranks in the bottom 10 of the NFL against opposing tight ends. Look for another big outing from No. 85.

Projected Statistics: Six receptions, 110 yards and one touchdown

2. Jason Witten, Dallas Cowboys

2013 Statistics: 31 receptions, 340 yards and three touchdowns

As the No. 7 overall fantasy tight end this season, placing Witten atop this list shouldn't be too much of a surprise. He's going up against a Philadelphia Eagles defense that is yielding an average of 65 receiving yards to opposing tight ends thus far this season. The interesting thing here is that Philadelphia is yet to give up a touchdown to tight ends in six games this season. That includes games against Julius Thomas and Antonio Gates. If Witten can nab a touchdown here, especially with the Eagles' struggles against the pass, he should finish as one of the top tight end for Week 7.

Projected Statistics: Eight receptions, 90 yards and one touchdown

3. Jordan Cameron, Cleveland Browns

2013 Statistics: 38 receptions, 460 yards and five touchdowns

By his standards, Cameron has struggled over the past two weeks. After putting up 360 yards and five scores in the Browns' first four games, the youngster has tallied just 100 receiving yards and two touchdowns over their past two outings. It's important to note that those two games have come against the Buffalo Bills (second-best against fantasy tight ends) and Detroit Lions (sixth-best). Cameron and the Browns now go up against a Green Bay Packers defense that is on the opposite end of the spectrum. They are giving up 77 yards and nearly one touchdown per game to tight ends, which ranks them 28th in the NFL. As the No. 4 fantasy player at his position this season, you can expect Cameron to live up to those expectations in Week 7.

Projected Statistics: Seven receptions, 85 yards and one touchdown

4. Kyle Rudolph, Minnesota Vikings

2013 Statistics: 21 receptions, 200 yards and two touchdowns

This may seem a bit out of left field. After all, Rudolph has struggled making any type of fantasy impact thus far this season. He has been nothing more than a mid-tier TE2 option with Christian Ponder and Matt Cassel at quarterback. That promises to change this week with newly signed Josh Freeman under center. Freeman possesses the ability to open up the passing game down the field, which will enable Rudolph to do what he does best, defeat linebackers and safety's between the hashes. The good news here for Rudolph and the Vikings is that he's going up against a New York Giants defense that is yielding the sixth-most fantasy points to tight ends this season.

Projected Statistics: Six receptions, 75 yards and one touchdown

5. Jermichael Finley, Green Bay Packers

2013 Statistics: 20 receptions, 228 yards and two touchdowns

Finley could be breaking out a tad here after struggling prior to Green Bay's bye, at least against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 3. With Randall Cobb out until at least the final month of the season and James Jones unlikely to play this week, Aaron Rodgers will have to find other weapons to go to. While there has been somewhat of a disconnect between Rodgers and his tight end, it seems the two have mended ties on the field. Green Bay will be going up against a Cleveland Browns defense that has given up the 14th-most fantasy points to tight ends this season.

Projected Statistics: Five receptions, 65 yards and one touchdown
