1. Demaryius Thomas, Denver Broncos
It really is hard to pick a single Broncos receiver to have a huge fantasy game. While Thomas, Wes Welker and Eric Decker are all top-15 fantasy receivers this season, it's this talented pass catcher that stands out above everyone else. He ranks third among all receivers in fantasy points and should benefit from Welker being out of this game against the San Diego Chargers after suffering a concussion last week. Equally as important, San Diego has allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing receivers this season.
Projected Statistics: 10 receptions, 160 yards and two touchdowns
2. Josh Gordon, Cleveland Browns
To put into perspective what Gordon has done recently, let's just take a look at his average performance over the course of the last four games. That amounts to nine receptions for 193.5 yards and 1.3 touchdowns. Yeah, he's kinda on what we would call a roll. Overall, Gordon leads the NFL in receiving yards with 1,400 despite missing the first two games of the season due to suspension. He now goes up against a Chicago Bears defense that is without Charles Tillman and ranks in the middle of the pack against fantasy receivers. Expect another huge game.
Projected Statistics: Eight receptions, 175 yards and one touchdown
3. Calvin Johnson, Detroit Lions
Not one healthy week has passed without me including Johnson in my top-five rankings. Despite what we have seen from Gordon over the course of the last two months, Megatron is still the top fantasy receiver in the NFL. Despite averaging less fantasy points per outing than Gordon, there is no reason to believe that Johnson will take a back seat to anyone when it comes to fantasy production. Add into the equation Matt Elam's recent comments about Johnson being "old" and you have the makings for a ridiculous performance come Monday night. Why in the world would a rookie defensive back give one of the best receivers in the history of the game bulletin board material? Great job, rook.
Projected Statistics: Eight receptions, 140 yards and one touchdown
4. Keenan Allen, San Diego Chargers
This rookie third-round pick has been tearing it up recently. After putting up just 30 total receiving yards in San Diego's first three games, Allen is averaging 87.2 yards and 0.4 touchdowns per outing since. That's stellar numbers for a veteran No. 1 wide receiver option, let alone a rookie third rounder. Over the course of his last three games, Allen has tallied 20 receptions for 289 yards and two touchdowns. Needless to say, he is becoming Philip Rivers' favorite target. San Diego now goes up against a Broncos defense that has given up the 10th-most fantasy points to receivers this season. Expect a rather big game, especially considering San Diego will have to air it out in order to beat the Broncos.
Projected Statistics: Eight receptions, 110 yards and one touchdown
5. Michael Crabtree, San Francisco 49ers
A surprise inclusion in my top five for the week, everything seems to be aligning for Crabtree to have an excellent game against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense that is yielding the third-most points to fantasy receivers this season. Making just his second appearance of the season last week, Crabtree was on the field for 61 of San Francisco's 69 offensive snaps. Despite struggling a tad against the best secondary in the NFL in the form of the Seattle Seahawks, Crabtree appears to be at 100 percent. It's also not going to hurt that he will be lining up against Johnthan Banks, who Pro Football Focus grades out as the seventh-worst cover cornerback in the entire league.
Projected Statistics: Seven receptions, 100 yards and one touchdown
