Top Fantasy Football Waiver-Wire Pickups for Week 11

There’s a very real chance that your roster is in need of some help at this point in the season.  The good news is that even after 10 weeks of play, new fantasy studs are stepping up constantly and there are still some guys out there that can really help out.  Here’s a look at four of them.

**Note: All stats/rankings are current up to the start of Monday Night Football.  All ownership percentages are averaged between ESPN, Yahoo!, CBS and NFL.com.

John Carlson - Tight End, Minnesota Vikings

We really should’ve seen a breakout game coming from Carlson, the Vikings backup tight end.  It’s no secret that Kyle Rudolph was Christian Ponder’s favorite target, and now that Rudolph is out with an injury, it makes sense that Carlson would receive the bulk of those targets.  In his first start for Minnesota on Sunday, Carlson caught seven passes for 98 yards and a touchdown, which was good for 15.80 fantasy points and first place among tight ends.  Carlson is owned in less than one percent of leagues, if you need tight end help go and get him now, because he’s going to be the hot add this week.

Kellen Clemens - Quarterback, St. Louis Rams

Clemens has been thrust into the starting role in St. Louis, in place of the injured Sam Bradford.  Clemens has shown improvement in each game he’s played in as he continues to build a better rapport and rhythm with the first-team offense.  On Sunday he had a breakout performance, throwing for 247 yards and two touchdowns en route to finishing as the ninth-best passer with 16.08 fantasy points.  Clemens isn’t the most attractive fantasy option, but if you need help at the QB position, he’ll likely be a top-15 guy for the rest of the season.  He’s only owned in 0.4 percent of leagues, so he shouldn’t be hard to get.

Andre Brown - Running Back, New York Giants

Here’s a guy I’ve been writing about for weeks now, as he neared a return to the field.  Despite the very obvious fact that Brown would be the primary ball carrier once he returned, he’s still only owned in 25.2 percent of leagues, which is bad news for owners who failed to pick him up prior to this week.  On Sunday, Brown reeled off 30 carries for 115 yards and a touchdown, finishing as the sixth best running back with 17.9 points.  Brown is a sure-fire RB1 for the remainder of the season, so do the right thing and put that claim in right now.  Seriously, don’t even read the rest of this. Just go and come back later.  Okay but really just keep reading, there’s only one more guy.

Riley Cooper - Wide Receiver, Philadelphia Eagles

Cooper is a guy I was skeptical of and wanted a little more evidence of consistency before I bought in.  Well, he produced that against the Green Bay Packers this weekend, establishing himself as Nick Foles’ favorite deep target - hauling in three receptions for 102 yards and two touchdowns, to finish the day as the fourth-best wide receiver with 22.20 points.  Cooper’s seven touchdowns this season are more than almost all of the preseason WR1’s.  As long as Foles is under center, Cooper is definitely a WR1 from here on out.  He’s still only owned in 31.3 percent of leagues, so get that claim in if you need a receiver upgrade or even depth.
