Worst Fantasy Football Performances From Sunday's Week 4 Action

Nick Foles, Quarterback, Philadelphia Eagles

Statistics: 195 passing yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions (2.90 points)

Foles and the Eagles offense were an absolute disaster against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. He completed just 21-of-43 passes for less than 200 yards in the worst performance of his young career. Sure Foles was under pressure behind a make shift offensive line, but his accuracy just wasn't there in this one. Those of you who are relying on the third-year quarterback as a QB1 option moving forward this year should be concerned. He's playing in a much improved NFC East and won't have stellar fantasy matchups moving forward. Following this performance, Foles is the 12th-ranked fantasy quarterback on the season.

Cam Newton, Quarterback, Carolina Panthers

Statistics: 197 passing yards, seven rushing yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions (10.58 points)

In all honesty, Newton just didn't have the necessary help to get it done against what was a dominating Baltimore Ravens team. Without a running game and behind a horrible offensive line, Newton couldn't find the likes of Kelvin Benjamin and Greg Olsen in the passing game. It led to a performance that saw him complete just 14-of-25 passes before being pulled with the game out of hand. The concern for Newton here is that he's the 24th-ranked fantasy quarterback through four weeks. That has to be cause for alarm.

LeSean McCoy, Running Back, Philadelphia Eagles

Statistics: 17 rushing yards, zero receiving yards and zero touchdowns (1.70 points)

That scream you hear reading this blurb? It's all of McCoy's fantasy owners letting out their frustration over the first four weeks of the season. The player most people selected No. 1 overall in redraft leagues prior to the season tallied a total of 17 yards on 10 attempts against the 49ers on Sunday. Yeah, that's not going to get it done. Through Week 4, McCoy has tallied a total of 42.20 fantasy points, which ranks him as a bottom-tier RB2 option. In order for him to bounce back, Philadelphia needs its offensive line to get healthy. If not, we could be looking at one of the most disappointing fantasy seasons from a running back in recent history.

Justin Hunter, Wide Receiver, Tennessee Titans

Statistics: one receptions, 12 yards and zero touchdowns (2.20 points)

Speaking of disappointing, Hunter put up just one catch on five targets against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. While some will point to Jake Locker being out of action in this one, Hunter's been a major disappointment all season long. Through four weeks, the second-year receiver has caught just nine of the 26 passes thrown in his direction. That's about as bad of a split that I have seen in my years covering fake football. If you own Hunter, sell and sell right now...even if it's on the cheap.

Calvin Johnson, Wide Receiver, Detroit Lions

Statistics: two receptions, 12 yards and zero touchdowns (3.20 points)

Johnson was hobbled big time by an ankle injury on Sunday against the New York Jets. And much to the chagrin of fantasy owners the world over, it impacted his performance big time. There isn't much more to add here outside of the fact that you might want to check in on how Johnson is feeling in the coming weeks if you are going to look at him as a daily option. He's a must start in redraft and other standard formats because 1) he's still a top receiver in the game and 2) his draft position. For Johnson, it's all going to be about health moving forward, as we all know ankle injuries can be nagging.
