Worst Fantasy Football Quarterbacks of the Last Four Weeks

Some fantasy leagues wrapped up their playoffs when the Baltimore Ravens defeated the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football Monday night. Though eDraft will cover the rest of the regular season like the last 15 weeks to cater to those leagues that are still in play, we will also reflect on what has been a couple crazy weeks of fantasy football.

Here are your duds for fantasy football leading up to what is championship week for the leagues that are still in play. We start with the quarterbacks. For the purposes of these articles we are going to look at players who have been considered viable fantasy options this season.

Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys

Four-Week Total: 921 passing yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions (62.74 points)

Romo had been a top-seven quarterback through the first 10 weeks of the season, but he has fallen off a great deal over the course of the last four games, a span of games that has seen Dallas go 2-2 against less-than-stellar competition. Outside of the Chicago Bears, each team that Dallas has gone up against in those four games rank in the bottom half of the NFL against fantasy quarterbacks. That's the disturbing thing about his recent performance. Even though Romo will be going up against two bad fantasy defenses in the form of the Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles in the final two weeks, you may be forced to look at your QB2 option in order to maintain some level of consistency at quarterback.

Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks

Four-Week Total: 715 passing yards, 99 rushing yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions (54.5 points, in three games)

Wilson hasn't played bad by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, he's been pretty darn good outside of Seattle's Week 14 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Seattle absolutely destroyed the New York Giants last week, which means Wilson didn't have to do much in the passing game. As the No. 6 fantasy quarterback this season, the second-year quarterback is still a viable option. He will be taking on two good pass defenses in the form of the Arizona Cardinals and St. Louis Rams to close out the season, but both are going to be at home. With all that said, if you have a stellar QB2 option, you might want to think long and hard about benching Wilson in Week 16. Arizona ranks in the top 10 of the NFL against fantasy quarterbacks. The other thing to look at here, especially if your fantasy league lasts the full 17 weeks, is that Seattle might be playing a meaningless game in Week 17. That would indicate that Pete Carroll and Co. might think about benching their starters.

Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions

Four-Week Total: 1,013 passing yards, seven touchdowns, nine interceptions and two lost fumbles (50.72 points)

Stafford has been downright atrocious over the course of the last four weeks. Outside of possibly costing the Lions a shot at the playoffs, he hasn't really done much to help your fantasy teams during that span. The veteran has tallied a total of 14.24 fantasy points over the past two weeks, turning the ball over four times over the course of those two games. He also had a four-interception performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 12. The issue with this is that Stafford would normally be considered an upper-echelon fantasy option in the final two games of the season against the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings. I just don't see him being able to turn it around and put up the top-five production we saw in the first 10 games of the season.

Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons

Four-Week Total: 1,019 passing yards, four touchdowns, two interceptions and three lost fumbles (49.36 points)

It must be noted that Ryan has been hurt a ton by the season-ending injury to Julio Jones and consistent injury issues that Roddy White has had to deal with this season. Taking everything into account, Ryan hasn't had a bad season. That can pretty much be thrown out the window as it relates to fantasy football, where Ryan has struggled. Pegged with top-five upside this season, the former first-round pick is the 16th-ranked fantasy quarterback through 14 weeks. It won't be getting any easier in the final two games, as Atlanta will be taking on the San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints. Much like you have done ever since Jones went down, continue to bench Ryan in favor of a higher-upside QB2 option.
