Packers at Vikings

Expect this week to be the fourth and final time that Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre will face his former team before heading off into the sunset.

The Vikings (3-6) are in another must-win situation to keep their slim NFC playoff hopes alive Sunday when they host the Green Bay Packers (6-3).

Favre's latest injury concern is to his shoulder, which limited his time in Wednesday's practice session. The 41-year-old is also nursing ankle and foot injuries but is expected to make his 295th consecutive start. Minnesota has lost three of its last four games, but is 3-1 at home.

Favre is responsible for 21 of Minnesota's 23 turnovers this season and his 72.2 passer rating is 30th in the league. The only time Favre produced a lower mark was a 70.9 in 2005.

In the three previous starts against the Packers, Favre has completed 57 of 88 passes for 727 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions.

Two weeks ago, Favre threw for a career-high 446 yards in a comeback win over Arizona, only to be intercepted three times in last week's 27-13 loss to Chicago. Favre leads the league with 16 interceptions.

The Vikings hope to have the receiving duo of Percy Harvin and Sidney Rice together for the first time this season. Harvin is the only player in the NFL this season with a rushing, receiving and return touchdown. Harvin left last week's contest with an ankle injury in the fourth quarter and did not return, but he continues his battle with migraine headaches.

Rice, who had offseason hip surgery, has yet to play a down this season and was activated to the roster Saturday. Rice is coming off a breakout season in 2009, totaling 1,312 yards and eight touchdowns on 83 receptions. He has full clearance to play from the team’s medical staff.

Green Bay, co-leader of the NFC North with Chicago, is coming off a 45-7 rout of the Cowboys two weeks ago that brought about the end of Wade Phillips' coaching career in Dallas.

Aaron Rodgers has been solid in his career against Minnesota, completing 108 of 162 passes for 1,303 yards and eight touchdowns to go along with three interceptions.

The Packers, who are looking to sweep the season series after losing twice to Favre a year ago, are looking for their fourth consecutive victory overall.

Defensive end Ryan Pickett (ankle) and linebacker Clay Matthews (hamstring) didn't practice this week, but could be available Sunday. Matthews has a league-high 10 1/2 sacks for a defense that has produced 28 this season.

Wide receiver Donald Driver missed his first game in seven years last week with a quadriceps injury and is coming off back-to-back games without a reception, but is hoping to play against Minnesota.

Driver had at least one catch in a team-record 139 consecutive games before being shut out in the Packers' 28-24 win over Minnesota on Oct. 24. Linebacker Desmond Bishop returned an interception 32 yards for a touchdown in that victory.

The meeting will be the 99th between the two rivals. Green Bay holds a slim 50-47-1 lead in the series.
