Jets at Dolphins

The Wildcat offense was introduced in Miami four seasons ago, the brainchild of then-Dolphins coach Tony Sparano. So when the New York Jets visit Miami on Sunday in an AFC East matchup, the obvious question is whether Sparano - fired as the Dolphins head coach late last season and now the Jets offensive coordinator - will re-introduce the Wildcat package that Tim Tebow was brought in to run. New York's offense took a decided step backward in last week's 27-10 loss in Pittsburgh, while Miami bounced back from a lackluster season-opening defeat in Houston to thrash the Oakland Raiders 35-13 behind a Reggie Bush-led ground game.

ABOUT THE JETS (1-1): New York burst out of the gate by routing Buffalo 48-28 in Week 1, quieting the critics after its offense did next to nothing in the preseason. The offensive woes returned in the loss to Pittsburgh as the Jets scored on their first two possession and spent the rest of the day punting the ball away. Mark Sanchez completed only 10 of 27 passes for 138 yards and a TD and running back Shonn Green had only 23 yards on 11 carries before exiting with an injury. Tebow made a cameo appearance and broke off a 22-yard run. Star cornerback Darrelle Revis sat out last week's game with a concussion but was cleared to practice Wednesday.

ABOUT THE DOLPHINS (1-1): Bush has talked openly of his desire to lead the league in rushing and he played like he meant it last week, rushing for 172 yards and scoring on runs of 23 and 65 yards to spark a ground game that churned out 263 yards. Rookie Ryan Tannehill looked much sharper than his interception-filled pro debut, throwing for 200 yards and a TD on 18-of-30 passing. Brian Hartline emerged as the top target for Tannehill, registering career highs in receptions (9) and yards (111). Miami's defense allowed only three points in the second half and held Oakland to 23 yards rushing.

EXTRA POINTS

1. Bush is seeking his fourth straight 100-yard game at home for the Dolphins, who have won five of the last seven meetings.

2. Even though Revis got the green light to return to practice, his status for Sunday's game remains in question.

3. Miami has held Houston and Oakland to a combined 106 yards rushing on 49 carries - an average of 2.2 yards per carry.
