Chiefs 31, Raiders 13

Knile Davis recorded two touchdowns and De’Anthony Thomas returned a punt for a score as host Kansas City breezed past Oakland.

Alex Smith passed for 297 yards and two touchdowns as the Chiefs (8-6) halted their three-game losing streak. Tight end Travis Kelce and Davis each caught a TD pass as Kansas City remained alive in the AFC playoff race.

Rookie David Carr was 27-of-56 for 222 yards and one touchdown for the Raiders (2-12), who fell to 0-7 on the road and have dropped 21 of their last 23 away games. Sebastian Janikowski kicked two field goals to account for Oakland's other points.

Davis capped a 70-yard drive with a 3-yard scamper with 6:46 left in the third quarter to give Kansas City a 17-6 advantage. Smith hit Kelce for a 20-yard touchdown 52 seconds later to make it an 18-point margin and Davis went 70 yards on a catch-and-run score late in the third to make it 31-6 before Carr hit James Jones with a 1-yard TD pass with 34 seconds remaining in the fourth.

Thomas returned his punt 81 yards down the left sideline to give the Chiefs the early lead. Cairo Santos kicked a 41-yard field goal with 8:01 left in the first half to make it 10-0 before Janikowski booted a 53-yarder as time expired and added a 33-yard kick early in the third quarter to pull Oakland within four points.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Chiefs OLB Justin Houston recorded his 17th sack of the season. … Janikowski has 48 career field goals of 50 yards or more, second to former Detroit K Jason Hanson (52). … Kansas City WR Dwayne Bowe caught three passes for 69 yards to become the third player in Chiefs history to top 7,000 career yards. Bowe (7,068) trails Tony Gonzalez (10,940) and Otis Taylor (7,306).
