With two games down in each series, adjustments have been made and teams now have to dig deeper to find areas to exploit against their opponents.
With just one early game, the bigger tournaments will focus on the three games starting at 3pm. Overall, the home teams tonight all have some momentum for varying reasons: whether they are the better team in general or they are getting a home crowd push, I think the visitors will have tough nights.
DFS Hockey Analysis – WAS @ NYI
Playoff Series Notes:
- The Capitals were without Braden Holtby (flu) last game, but were able to pull out a win in game two
- New York controlled the first half of game two, but Washington finally “clicked” during the second half: the defense tightened up, and the forwards showed impressive forechecking to keep the puck in the Islander zone
- Jaroslav Halak is merely average – if the Capitals can maintain offensive zone pressure they should score three goals easily
- Expect the Islanders to really take advantage of home ice advantage at Nassau Coliseum during its swan song
- After a strong game one, the Islander' line of Frans Nielsen, Josh Bailey, and Kyle Okposo did a horrible job when matched up against Alexander Ovechkin
