Daily FanDuel Fantasy Hockey Picks: Feb 10, 2015

Are we into the Dog Days of winter yet? And is there a better way to spend a random Tuesday night in February than playing Daily Fantasy hockey and watching as the lineups you made become winners? That’s a rhetorical question, of course there isn’t! There is a great nine-game NHL schedule going tonight with several intriguing games. We have a bunch of the league’s top teams at home and with great match-ups and that should lead to a high scoring night, and an exciting night for daily fantasy hockey.

Today’s article will provide analysis for the teams in action, top teams to target for daily fantasy, recommend players for FanDuel, and even sample lineups that could be used to help build ones for tonight’s play.

Top Teams to Target Tonight for Daily Fantasy Hockey

St. Louis Blues – The Blues defeated Arizona decisively twice this year – 6-1 and 6-0, with both games in Arizona. They face the Coyotes at home this time and are big favorites. This game is a good pick to be the biggest blowout of the night. For daily fantasy hockey, the Blues are all very stackable in tournament play. For cash game lineups, you’ll want to get at least one player from each of the top forward lines to get exposure to both, and defenseman Alex Pietrangelo is also a great play.

TOP GOALTENDER PLAYS

Carey Price ($10,200) – Price has been dominant all year, and especially the past couple months going 15-4 and with only two games where he’s given up more than two goals. He is the highest priced goaltender in daily fantasy, and for good reason. Price is extremely reliable, extremely productive, and has another strong matchup tonight against a Flyers team that is weak on the road.

Jake Allen ($7,300) – Allen is not only the best VALUE play goaltender on Tuesday, he might also be the best goaltender play overall. Allen had a rough game against Columbus on Friday, but prior to that he rattled of four straight wins, giving up two goals or less in each game. The Coyotes are one of the league’s worst teams and are not much of a threat offensively. Allen is a definite top option for tournament lineups as high low salary will allow you to load up elsewhere. He can also be a cash game option if you want to spend higher on your offensive players.

TOP DEFENSEMEN PLAYS

Travis Hamonic ($4,300) – Hamonic was recently elevated to be the Islanders’ powerplay quarterback and he’s responded with two big games. Tonight the Islanders are in a great position for scoring a handful of goals, and Hamonic should again be involved in them.

TOP RIGHT WINGER PLAYS

Vladimir Tarasenko ($7,400) – Tarasenko has continued to be one of the top players in the league, averaging a point per game and 3.5 shots per game, and with an impressive +25 rating. The Blues are in a fantastic spot for a blowout, and Tarasenko is potentially the top target from the Blues for daily fantasy tonight.
