The NHL delivers an 11-game schedule tonight that is loaded! There are tons of strong offensive teams in a great position to score high tonight and this makes for a very interesting and exciting night for daily fantasy hockey. The tournament leaderboards will be very active and change rapidly as the scores climb high. For cash games (50/50s, head-to-head), there are several teams that are the top targets to look at, and a good strategy will be to mix in three or four of them to get exposure to top lines and players.
Today’s article will provide analysis for the teams in action, top teams to target for daily fantasy, recommend players for FanDuel, and even sample lineups that could be used to help build ones for tonight’s play.
Top Teams to Target Tonight for Daily Fantasy Hockey
Montréal Canadiens – Lately any team facing Buffalo becomes one of the top targets on the night. The Sabres have played Montréal tough this year (two wins in three matches), but those games were when they were playing a little better, and it’s highly doubtful they end their 14-game losing streak tonight in Montréal. Buffalo has given up at least three goals in seven straight (4+ in five of them), and we can expect more of the same tonight. The Canadiens have two good scoring lines and also get solid production from their top defenseman – P.K. Subban and Andrei Markov. You’ll want to get at least two Canadiens (and maybe three) in your cash game lineups, and both lines along with a defenseman can be stacked in tournament lineups.
Recommended Plays for FanDuel
TOP GOALTENDER PLAYS
Carter Hutton ($6,700) – Hutton will be a popular play also on Tuesday evening, as the Predators host the Leafs and their extremely weak offense (scoring only 7 goals in their past 9 games). Nashville is the league’s best team on home ice and Hutton has played very well in most games since Rinne went down to injury, including a shutout at Pittsburgh on Sunday. At his low low price, Hutton makes a tremendous VALUE play for all game formats.
TOP DEFENSEMEN PLAYS
Alex Pietrangelo ($5,000) – There should be several Blues goals scored tonight, and it’s less certain which line will be the most productive. Considering that, using Pietrangelo is a good play on the blueline as he should be involved in the Blues’ scoring.
Andrei Markov ($3,700) – Markov plays a large amount of minutes during both regular strength and on the powerplay (with P.K. Subban), and is in a great spot tonight for at least one point and possibly a multi-point game.
