Top Teams to Target Tonight for Daily Fantasy Hockey
There is a lack of teams that are strong candidates to score three or more goals and this makes things difficult to determine top targets for cash game lineups. The Red Wings are a big favorite and should score at home to Arizona, however they’ve been dealing with injuries and their offense has been unpredictable lately. The Lightning are also a good sized favorite at home to the Panthers and a couple Lightning players could be included in a cash game lineup also. When building that lineup, it may be a good strategy to include a couple Wings, a couple Bolts and then a mix of players from three or four other teams.
For tournaments, Detroit’s top line (Henrik Zetterberg, Justin Abdelkader, Erik Cole) could be stacked, and for Tampa Bay either of the top two lines are worth stacking, along with one of their top defensemen - Victor Hedman and Anton Stralman.
Recommended Players for FanDuel
TOP GOALTENDER PLAYS
Jimmy Howard ($8,400) – Detroit is a huge favorite at home tonight to Arizona, and Howard is in a great spot for the win and a great game. Howard has had a very strong season overall for Detroit, with a 2.34 GAA and .915 SvPct. The Coyotes rank second last for goals scored on the season and have been awful in the month of March, averaging just one goal per game through 10 games played. The Wings beat the Coyotes 3-1 last month in Arizona, and we can expect a similar result tonight.
TOP LEFT WINGER PLAYS
Daniel Sedin ($6,300) – A four game point streak for Sedin with six points in total and 21 shots on goal. The Canucks are scoring well these days and this has largely been led by the top line. Although their matchup with the Jets might be a close game, there should be a few goals scored, and Sedin is likely to be involved.
TOP CENTER PLAYS
Henrik Zetterberg ($7,300) – There are several high priced Centers tonight with good matchups to score well, and Zetterberg stands out due to his great matchup. We’ll look past his last three games and focus on what we can try to anticipate for tonight, and this is a situation where the Wings should score at least three goals and four or more is very possible. The Coyotes have given up the third most number of goals this year, including 11 in their past three games. Even with his last three games scoreless, Zetterberg has 10 points in 10 games and is averaging over three shots on goal in the month of March.
J.T. Miller ($3,700) – After being relegated to the Rangers’ third line for most of the year, Miller has recently been moved up to the second line (with Derick Brassard and Mats Zuccarello) and is also getting more time on the power play. So far Miller has taken full advantage of this opportunity with goals in each of his past two games and a two-point game on Sunday. The Rangers scored seven goals in that game and play the Kings tonight who are not that strong on the road (13-14-7). This is a great situation for Miller to come through as a great VALUE play again, and he could be targeted as part of a Rangers’ second line stack, or as a single player to complete a lineup.
