After Saturday’s marathon that featured 13 games starting 12:30 EDT, we are back to a normal schedule and a solid DFS one at that. We have eight games in total, with only one starting early, so we will neglect the Capitals and Rangers game to focus on the 5pm slate.
Almost every team playing today played yesterday with the exception of Calgary, Chicago, and Winnipeg, so be sure to double check starting goalies. As a rule of thumb with few exceptions, goalies starting for a second straight day tend to fatigue and play poorly (skaters overall seem to be relatively unaffected). Plus, teams might utilize their backups with varying qualities around the league.
Top Teams to Target Tonight for Daily Fantasy Hockey
1. Detroit Red Wings – With Pavel Datsyuk back, the Wings boast two competent scoring lines to attack opposing defenses with. All six members of the top two lines boast strong Corsi numbers, which is more than can be said for the Islanders. These two teams are headed in opposite directions with Detroit trending up while the Islanders have declined. The Islanders will get to choose the matchups as the hosts, and the duo Nick Leddy and Johnny Boychuk can be stingy, but at least one line will have room to move here. I expect Detroit to stay firing on all…cylinders… and take care of the Islanders.
