It’s back to a good sized slate, as the schedule smoothes out and we avoid the mini-slates for a bit. With eight games and 16 teams in action, we have numerous directions to go when we build our lineups. There are a few major favorites heading into the night, so we’re going to need to find value to afford some higher priced stars.
Goalie is looking strong, thankfully, with a few different ways to go. It feels like it’s been a while since there were multiple safe options – even on Tuesday’s ten game slate, there were no real “safe” plays.
As we get closer to 10 games played by each team, we can really start to utilize trends and current season statistics. I’ve started to look more at puck possession metrics and offensive zone draw type data, though it should still be noted that it’s very early to draw conclusions. Until we get about one-third to one-quarter of the season down, the advanced analytics are more support than true decision makers.
