Daily FanDuel Fantasy Hockey Picks: October 9, 2015

It’s a five game slate for the first Friday night in the NHL season – not much of a party, but enough for DFS to be dangerous.

Only one team played last night – the Jets – and they looked pretty good against the Bruins. Five of the ten teams in action tonight will be kicking off their seasons. The Kings – Coyotes game is the only game that looks like it could definitely be a one sided affair, but this early in the season anything goes.

Top Teams to Target Tonight for Daily Fantasy Hockey

1. Chicago Blackhawks – The Islanders are definitely a good team, but they will be starting their backup goalie and the Blackhawks havethe top six to match them. Jonathan Toews, Teuvo Teravainen and Marian Hossa on the top line will battle the John Tavares line, and this game could become a shootout. Look atthe top two lines (Toews line plus Patrick Kane, Artem Anisimov and Artemi Panarin) as well as defenders that get power play minutes ( Brent Seabrook, Duncan Keith and Trevor Daley) as the Islanders had a dreadful penalty kill last year. Of the defenders, I’d lean Daley as he should have the easier even strength defense assignments.
