If the Leafs are going to avoid a letdown, they are going to need to learn to close out games in big situations. I understand that they don't have much playoff experience in the last decade, but if you are up by three goals with 10 minutes left in the game, you are expected to close the game and advance to the next round. They're probably over it now though, which is good.
The Leafs now have the team that they want to have. They got new players in free agency along with Phil Kessel, Tyler Bozak, and Nazem Kadri. Not to mention James Reimer of course. With the team that Toronto has, there is no question that they will make the playoffs in the upcoming season. The question is though will history repeat itsself? The Leafs' fans certainly hope not and we will see what happens in the upcoming season for Toronto and hope that they can learn to close out big games in big situations.
