Mariners 4, Orioles 5
Adam Jones dropped down a game-winning suicide bunt to score Nick Markakis from third base in the bottom of the 11th inning and lift the Baltimore Orioles to a 5-4 win over the Seattle Mariners on Monday night.
Seattle catcher Adam Moore broke a 3-3 tie in the top of the 10th inning with a solo shot to left off Alfredo Simon, but closer David Aardsma couldn't shut the door. He loaded the bases and then walked in a run in the bottom half of the inning to extend things.
Matt Albers (5-3) was credited with the win with one perfect inning of relief.
Ty Wigginton scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the first to break the ice and the two teams were knotted at three after Russell Branyan and Jose Lopez hit back-to-back jacks for the Mariners.
Adam Jones and Wigginton both had two hits for the Orioles, while Moore finished 4-for-5 at the dish with a run scored.
Reliever Sean White (0-1) took the loss.
Seattle starter Doug Fister went five innings, giving up three earned runs on 10 hits, while Baltimore’s Bradley Bergesen was pulled after 5 1/3 innings, also allowing three earned on nine hits.
