Nationals 6, Braves 0

Livan Hernandez ended his bad luck against the Atlanta Braves with eight scoreless innings and a pair of RBIs to help the Washington Nationals snap their six-game losing streak with a 6-0 win Tuesday at Turner Field.

Hernandez (10-11) improved to 7-16 all-time against the Braves. He allowed five hits and walked two, striking out six.

The Nationals gave their veteran right-hander an early lead on Adam Dunn's two-run homer in the second inning and Hernandez added to the lead himself with an RBI double in the second and a solo homer in the fourth.

Ian Desmond had two hits, including a solo homer in the ninth, for Washington, which has split 14 games with the Braves this season. Dunn and Ryan Zimmerman also had two hits apiece for the Nationals.

Atlanta starter Jair Jurrjens (7-6) allowed four runs on nine hits over five innings, suffering his second consecutive loss at Turner Field after going more than a year without a home defeat.

Brian McCann had two of Atlanta's five hits.
