Astros 5, Reds 3
Angel Sanchez drove in the go-ahead runs off Aroldis Chapman to lead the Houston Astros past the Cincinnati Reds, 5-3, on Friday.
Michael Bourn added three hits and an RBI and Carlos Lee homered for the Astros, who moved within four games of .500 at 71-75.
Knotted at 3-3, the Reds brought in super rookie Chapman and his 100-plus mph fastball to begin the seventh. Jeff Keppinger led off with a pinch-hit single before Chapman (1-1) issued a walk to pinch-hitter Anderson Hernandez. Michael Bourn followed with a bunt single to load the bases in front on Sanchez, who slapped a single into center to bring in two runs.
The earned runs were the first for Chapman in nine career appearances.
Wandy Rodriguez started for the Astros and took a no-hitter into the sixth before allowing a double to Joey Votto. Johnny Gomes followed a walk to Scott Rolen with a three-run blast to give Cincinnati a 3-2 edge.
Lee tied it in the bottom of the frame with his 22 homer. Brandon Lyon worked the ninth for his 17th save.
