Rangers 3, Rays 0: Texas remains perfect against Tampa's Price

Colby Lewis gave up four hits over eight shutout innings and out-dueled David Price as the visiting Texas Rangers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 3-0 Wednesday afternoon.

Lewis (5-5) struck out eight and walked two, throwing 113 pitches. Neftali Feliz pitched the ninth to earn his 11th save.

Price (6-5) allowed five hits and three runs in eight innings, striking out eight. Texas is one of two American League teams Price has never beaten. He has not faced Seattle.

Adrian Beltre doubled to lead off the fifth and scored on a Nelson Cruz single for a 1-0 Texas lead. Elvis Andrus added insurance with a two-run single in the eighth for the Rangers, who have won four of five. Ninth-place hitter Craig Gentry doubled with two outs to start that rally.

The Rays dropped to 14-16 at home before embarking on a season-high 11-game road trip, which starts in Seattle on Thursday. The Rays are 15-10 away from home.
