Blue Jays 11, Mariners 6

Travis Snider homered and drove in five runs, and Edwin Encarnacion also went deep as the host Toronto Blue Jays sent Seattle to its 11th consecutive loss with an 11-6 victory over the Mariners on Wednesday night.

After hitting a sacrifice fly in the first inning off Jason Vargas (6-8) and adding an RBI single in the third, Snider capped his big night with a deep shot to the seats in right-center field for his third homer of the season. The 23-year-old has 17 RBIs in 13 games since being recalled from the minors.

Encarnacion was the other offensive star, finishing 3-for-5 with his seventh homer and four runs scored. Adam Lind also went deep as part of a 2-for-4 effort.

That was enough for Brandon Morrow (7-4), who was solid in his first career game against the team that made him the fifth overall pick in 2006. Morrow scattered three runs and seven hits over seven innings, walked three and struck out seven to win his fifth straight decision.

Vargas was lit up for five runs in three innings and walked five in his shortest outing since May 29.

Dustin Ackley had a two-run homer and finished with three RBIs, and Adam Kennedy added a solo blast for Seattle, which extended its longest losing skid since September 2008.
