Blue Jays 1, Athletics 0
Luis Perez and Casey Janssen combined on a one-hitter and Jose Bautista homered as the Blue Jays earned a 1-0 win at Oakland on Sunday afternoon.
Bautista broke a scoreless tie when he led off the top of the seventh inning with a blast to left field off Oakland starter Guillermo Moscoso (6-7), his major league-leading 36th home run.
Perez (3-2) took a perfect game into his sixth and final inning of work, when he escaped a bases-loaded jam by getting Coco Crisp to ground into a double play with one out. The Toronto starter struck out four while allowing one hit and a pair of walks before giving way to Janssen, who collected five strikeouts over three innings of hitless relief.
Moscoso was nearly as sharp in defeat, yielding up just three hits and striking out seven in eight innings. He and Perez combined to retire 25 straight batters before J.P. Arencibia doubled to lead off the sixth for the Blue Jays.
Jemile Weeks had the lone Oakland hit, a single in the sixth inning.
