Lance Berkman doubled in Albert Pujols in the eight inning to lift the visiting St. Louis Cardinals to a 3-2 victory over the Florida Marlins on Friday.
The Cardinals have won 14 of their last 19 games at Florida after winning the first two of the four-game series.
Florida’s Anibal Sanchez (6-5) pitched seven strong innings before Pujols doubled to deep center leading off the eighth.
Reliever Mitchell Boggs (1-3) pitched a scoreless inning and Lance Lynn recorded his first career save.
St. Louis’ Matt Holliday hit his fourth homer in five games after going three weeks without one.
Florida’s Mike Stanton went 3-for-5 with an RBI triple, but struck out with the bases loaded to end the game.
Marlins shortstop Hanley Ramirez missed his second straight game with a sprained shoulder, but is expected to play Saturday.
