Mariners 8, Twins 7 (10)

Carlos Peguero hit a game-tying RBI single with two outs in the ninth inning and Luis Rodriguez lifted a sacrifice fly in the 10th as the Seattle Mariners extended their winning streak to six games Monday with an 8-7 road victory over the Minnesota Twins.

Peguero and Jack Cust each had two hits and two RBIs while Jack Wilson scored three runs for the Mariners, who also have won four straight on the road.

Seattle scored twice in the eighth inning to get within 7-6 and Peguero plated pinch runner Michael Saunders in the ninth with a single off Matt Capps, who blew his fourth save opportunity and cost Twins starter Carl Pavano his 100th career win.

Wilson and Miguel Olivo began the 10th with singles off Anthony Swarzak (0-2) and Rodriguez plated Wilson with the winning run three batters later with a fly ball to center.

Jamey Wright (1-1) tossed a scoreless ninth inning and Brandon League worked the 10th for his 11th save in 14 chances.

Minnesota's Jim Thome hit a pair of two-run homers in his return from the disabled list to move within seven of 600 for his career. Denard Span went 3-for-5 with a homer and two RBIs while Michael Cuddyer scored three runs and went 2-for-3 to give him 999 career hits for the Twins, who fell to 4-12 at home and lost for the 13th time in 16 overall games.
